Your Tulsa Area Roof- Wind and Warmth- We have had a lot of wind this fall and many calls about shingle blow off. Take a look at your roof and check for missing shingles or shakes. If you find them, your roof is exposed and your roof will need some repair. Flashing that is just caulked together will come apart and can lead to leaks. It needs to be soldered or welded together or re-caulked often. The right roof can help keep your house warm during the colder weather. Insulation is a big factor in your homes warmth. Cellulose insulation tends to settle over time. What was once 12 inches of insulation may now be 2-3 inches. If your home is over 10 years old, check out your attic and look at the insulation. It may be worthwhile to add insulation to your home. Sometimes, the builder didn't put in enough insulation, other times, it has settled over the years. Remember, insulation is cheaper than energy costs. A well insulated attic will help reduce your chances of an ice damn causing major damage to your home. Soffit ventilation is necessary to allow for the cool air to enter and exit the attic, Your attic needs to breath. Warm air for your living space and cool air for your attic space. Exterminating Brown Recluse Spiders in Tulsa
Brown Recluse Spiders are around all year long, not just in the Summer. They are often in the garage and attic. They love wood roofs and cardboard. Be especially careful when you are getting Christmas decorations and things down from your attic. They cause damage to the flesh when they bite you. Take them seriously. If you have them, you will usually see them. Sometimes, you will see egg sacs, in a dark area such as under furniture or in the closet. They bite us when our skin comes into contact with them. They might get in your clothes or boxes of stuff and when we touch them, accidentally, they will bite us. We can identify them best by looking at a picture online. They are sometimes confused with the grass spider. It is hard to see the "fiddle" shape on their back. Glue boards are a good way to determine what kind of spider you have.
