What is the Tulsa Boy's Home? The Tulsa Boys Home is 91 years old. They are a residential treatment facility. Boys are often homeless or wards of the state. Many have been through extreme abuse and neglect. They help them heal and their ages are between 11 and 18 but average between 14-16. These are pivotal ages where boys are taught foundations for life. TBH success rate is very strong, however, it can be hard to track boys years down the road. TBH pre and post tests all boys coming in and leaving the home. They use standardized test to measure self esteem, internal locus of control, and other things. We measure there score from entering the home and see tremendous improvement with the score upon leaving the home. Many boys are learning for the first time that they can accomplish things in their life and that they are valuable.

Ken Yazel, Tulsa County Assessor, responds to The Future of Real Estate interview with Joe Cook who was speaking for the passage of the Broken Arrow School Bond issue. Mr. Yazell said that Tulsa County residents are, by far, the highest taxed real estate owners in the state. Some proponents for the bond issue are saying that Yazell's weighted average is not representative of the actual tax rate property owners are paying. Yazell responds "The fact is that Tulsa property owners are the highest taxed in the state and they deserve to know the truth. I am not here to kill any bond issue or to oppose the vote. I am here to make the facts available and make sure taxpayers are not mislead by marketing campaigns trying to get their votes."
Tulsa, Oklahoma housing starts rose 38% in October from the previous year according to New Orders Weekly. This marks an increase for three of the previous four months, a good sign but not the end of recovery.
11 developers across the state have received more than $5 million in affordable housing tax credits for projects that build or rehabilitate affordable housing in Oklahoma.
The Tulsa Hills Lowe's has sold for $6.1 million to a Tulsa investor. Investor real estate sales on commercial properties are those where an investor has little interest in the business and simply wants a good return on their investment. A strong tenant, in this case Lowe's Home Improvement Store, is attractive to the investor because they are looking for the consistent cash flow in the form of rent. The original developer, who was Tulsa Hills, can now take proceeds from their sale and pay down debt which will help them start a new phase or simply stay afloat when cash is tight.
Should I Make a Reduction in the Price of My Home? Consider these questions :Would you rather have an offer you can say no to because it is too low or be in your current position and have no offers. What is your real bottom dollar. What are the costs of owning your home? (including repairing and replacing roof. mowing lawn, taxes, insurance, etc item that won't be recovered) If those things are costing you 2000 a month and it takes 6 months to sell you will have spent an extra 12000 versus reducing the price by say 10000 and possibly selling soon. In 6 months you may wind up facing the same reduced price (by 10000) and then already have spent the extra 12000.
federal housing officials are developing regulations to ensure gays and lesbians are given access to federally subsidized housing. Price your property strategically and make sure it is priced according to the market. A good realtor will be able to look at your property from the outside, with experience and market information as well as what buyers are wanting and price accordingly.
The Naughty or Nice List made by the American Family Association has published a list of businesses who proudly say "Merry Christmas" and others who refuse to use the phrase "Merry Christmas" and even tell employees not to say "Merry Christmas". If you want the phrase "Merry Christmas" used instead of "Happy Holidays" support the businesses off the list that proudly say "Merry Christmas".

Family Fun Night Idea- Those who have had a catastrophe know how much work it is to find receipts and locate and remember all the items in your home. To prevent this problem should a catastrophe occur, get a video camera and turn your insurance inventory list into a game for the whole family. Video everything from your sock drawers (let you kids count them) to your new TV. This will not only help teach your kids the importance of serial numbers on electronic items to helping your young kids with their counting skills. This video will help you in the event of a fire or another catastrophe. Keep you video stored off sight or in a fire-proof box. Have fun and keep good inventory records as well.
