Tulsa County Assessor , Ken Yazel Ken Yazel discussed various tax exemptions for property owners in Tulsa County. Double Homestead for senior citizens, Homestead for owner occupied homes, Senior Freeze, Veteran's exemptions and Property Tax Refund are all ways property owners can reduce their tax liability. Mr.Yazel also provided listeners information on how to dispute their tax assessment. Mass appraisal techiniques are used to value property and therefore the Assessor's office remains receptive to property owner's objections to thier assessment. Be prepared to provide photos and reasons for your objection to be more effective in changing your ssessment.
