Kids go into protective custody due to suspected abuse or neglect. Sometimes they are returned to their home if the allegations of abuse are unfounded. Usually though, they are put into foster homes. In this conference, we are working with faith based organizations to encourage more people to become foster parents. Everyone can do something! If there are not enough foster homes, the kids will go into a shelter with lots of other kids.
October 27, 2011 is when this conference is held. It is free and full of lots of information on how you can help. It is being held at The Church at Battle Creek in Broken Arrow. It starts at 9am and goes until 3:30pm and even includes free lunch. For information on this conference visit www.faithlinksok.org
Exterminating Yellow Jackets in TulsaYellow Jackets are still hanging around. Workers are about 1/2 inch long, queens are 3/4 inch long. The females will sting over and over again. They are very aggressive in late summer since they are in need of sugar to sustain themselves. The Queens come out to find a nesting place. In the evening the come around to look for a way into your attic. Now is a good time to prepare your home for winter. Prevent pests through pest prevention, caulk needed areas outside and inside. At Mother Natures, we can let you know areas that pests can enter. Many times, these area need caulk or some minor repairs that will reduce the number of pests inside.
We will do free evaluations to address these needs. No obligation.

Deductibles and Your Tulsa Insurance Policy- In the last 10-15 years, the minimum deductible for your homeowners policy has moved toward $500. Often it is at $1000. When insurance companies change the deductible, they will let you know in a notice, likely through the mail. When you receive these notices, don't throw them away or file them without looking them over. When considering your deductible, look at the cost and the benefit of your policy at each deductible level. Make sure that you have the deductible set aside in case there is a claim. Don't use the deductible for other things or you might find yourself with a claim but no deductible. Some agents are changing the deductible on their clients without notifying them. Your agent shouldn't be changing your deductible without discussing it with you first. Insurance companies do change their policies and deductible minimum at times but will always notify you.

Repairing Your Tulsa Home For Sale- Sometimes a pre-inspection can be a good idea, but the buyer will almost always do their own. You will likely have wood rot, especially if your home is not new. Often there are also things that need to be repaired that you can easily overlook, as a homeowner. Look around for obvious things that need to be repaired such as wood rot, a leaky faucet or running toilet, etc. As a homeowner, the repair may be a simple $40 repair, however the buyer will see it and often think that there are many other problems hiding.
