Bixby (OT and Downtown) 
Downtown Bixby, Oklahoma has begun its rebound from a deserted low in the 1990's.  New curbs and walks, streetlights and an economic force creating good value for the buildings has brought a list of changes to the area and more to come. Vision 2025 funds helped replace the aging sidewalks and added street lamps, New business have opened  (and succeeded to the surprise of many old-timers), and word about town is that the Original Town of Bixby is creating a future for itself. 

Additional changes on the horizon include the widening of 151st Street East of Memorial which will carry traffic to the Bixby Public Schools and Bentley Park.  Floodplain management has changed the water flow in the area to address the flood plain issues which have plagued the are from the beginning.

An interesting story to the downtown Bixby area... The streets downtown don't line up as a result of a dispute between the two businessmen attempting to establish the prime business corridor along the railroad tracks.  The prevailing business district, where downtown business are located today, was the later of the two.  It is called Midland Addition. The southern side of the original town of Bixby, OK is mostly houses.
