Am I required to put 20% down to purchase a home? In many cases you are not required to put 20% down to purchase a home. There are any options including VA, FHA, and conventional mortgages. FHA requires only 3.5%, new home construction mortgages require 10% down (of the buyers own money). If the property is an investment property there is a requirement to put down 20%.
When purchasing a home, work with a good mortgage lender and discuss all your options, questions, and concerns.

Could I be forced to obtain a permit to hold a home bible study? A
San Diego County pastor and his wife were threatened with escalating fines for having a home bible study. The small bible study with an average of 15 people attending was said to be against county ordinances. They were told they had to obtain a permit for holding religious meetings.

What type of insurance can I get for my summertime toys? Keep in mind that many lakes are loaded with debris this time of year. This can damage your boat, RV, and other toys. Your homeowners insurance will not usually cover these items and separate coverage will need to be purchased. Prices depend on the value of your toy. Also remember that liability is very important to have on these items in order to cover damage to other people and their property.

What is the Bug of the Week? Silver Fish. Silver Fish eat wool, cotton, silk, and fur. The attic is a primary breeding ground. Spraying for them now can help because they are driven to the attic due to the heat. Later in the summer can mean a larger population of Silver Fish in your attic. Once a year or every other year will generally cover a silver fish issue. We use a boric acid dust to kill silver fish. This is a product that is safe for humans and the environment since it kills according to weight and the amount used is not harmful to humans. Silver Fish do not harm humans but will eat many things including glue on wallpaper and paper off sheetrock.

Meth labs continue to grow and flourish in the Tulsa Area. They have found 122 this year but only 41 last year (2008). There is a new method to making meth which could be the reason there has been such an increase in the number of labs found.
Tulsa has been designated a bicycle friendly community. Tulsa is the first city in Oklahoma to have this designation.
